Their chart below shows fat going from 40 percent to 32 percent. The Atkins people insinuate that Americans have gotten fatter because they are not eating enough fat! Americans are fatter and sicker because they have been eating more grams of fat and sugar, thus total calories, and exercising less. Most Americans have never tried the vary-low-fat diet, the one with around 10 percent of its calories coming from fat.
